Brown Announces Neighborhood Assistance Program Grants for Lawrence County Projects
1/14/2025
LAWRENCE COUNTY – Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) is applauding the recent announcement by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), which included $34.3 million in funding through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) to support 218 projects across Pennsylvania. This funding aims to revitalize distressed areas and improve the lives of low-income individuals.

Among the recipients from Lawrence County are two key organizations benefiting from the program:

Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation is receiving $391,473 to implement a countywide real-time Unified Report Management system. This project will enhance law enforcement operations, allowing for faster case processing, better criminal investigations and improved safety for both officers and residents.
Sovereign Community Outreach is awarded $9,000 to help expand its services to underprivileged youth. This funding will support renovations to address food insecurity and enable the expansion of youth development programs in the community.

“I am thrilled to see Lawrence County benefit from this critical funding through the Neighborhood Assistance Program,” said Brown. “These grants will help improve public safety and provide essential resources for our youth. I am proud to support initiatives that strengthen our community and ensure brighter futures for all.”

The NAP grants reflect the investment in Pennsylvania’s communities to foster innovation, job creation and economic development. The funding is expected to have a lasting, positive impact on local communities, strengthening both public services and community-based programs.
