– To grow the region’s economy in a fiscally responsible manner, Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) will join the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) to co-host a small business roundtable discussion on Thursday, April 20, at 8 a.m. at The Confluence.
The roundtable discussion, which is free to the public, will feature Greg Moreland, NFIB state director, as the guest speaker.
“We need to find ways to increase jobs, reduce red tape, better steward state resources and increase economic recovery,” said Brown. “There are several issues businesses are facing: paid leave, minimum wage increase, health care benefits and much more. An open dialogue will take place to encourage hearing directly from businesses.”
Representatives from area businesses will be in attendance and the public will be permitted to state their questions or concerns. Brown asks the public and businesses to please call her office at 724-498-4397 to register for the event.
“Our small businesses have been hit hard by inflation, and it’s incumbent upon us to do everything in our power to bring our local economy back stronger and better than ever before,” said Brown. “As our economy and business practices change with the times, our laws and regulations must adapt and change as well. This will allow Pennsylvania to not only continue to grow, but it will make our business environment more competitive and more efficient.”
The Confluence is located at 214 E. Washington St. in New Castle
